Hello - I have been divorced one year. I do have a boyfriend however I feel it is not a good fit and I am likely to end it. I am holding off because I am scared to be alone. This empty feeling is not a good feeling. I have two children 13 and 9. I have shared custody with my ex. I feel agitated all the time and just don't feel like a good person or a good mother. I feel that the kids don't want to be with me cuz I have a small house I am renting that is only two bedrooms. I gave the kids both the rooms and I sleep whereever. I just didn't imagine my life to be like this and am loney and sad. I am not one to have close friends or family but that is so lonely.

Hi there, it sounds like you're going through a difficult patch.

You need to take some time out for yourself! Do you have any friends? Any family nearby?

You need to end your relationship, it's a waste of time if he doesn't make you happy. Then ask a friend or family member to go out to lunch or to the movies. Make time to do things for yourself, but with friends so that you don't feel so lonely.

Try to do more activities with your kids (they can be cheap or free) so that they see you as a fun mom and to remind yourself that your life isn't as bad as it seems, it's just a rough patch.

I dont know how extreme your situation is, so if you ever really feel down like your life isn't worth living, go and see a professional! You ave 2 beautiful children who love and need their mother, and you sound like a great mom. If it's not that extreme, I think you can improve your life by just spending more time doing things you enjoy - break the routine a little.

If you have someone to talk to, do it, as soon as you talk about your feelings you'll feel the weight lifted. Hopefully a friend, sibling, parent, or if necessary a doctor or helpline.

Bets of luck

Harper
