Although those above are just a few examples from the Oxford dictionary, there are dozens and dozens of definitions of that loaded word, ''Diet''. If the word itself is so complicated to define, then it stands to follow that the act of ing would be just as problematic.
And it is. Anyone who's experienced the dizzying rollercoaster of losing weight in the first week of the and regaining it later knows just how problematic it is. As Jackie Gleason said, '' The second day of the is always easier than the first. By the second day, you're off it.'' Clearly, the problem lies not in losing weight, but in maintaing it.
Now, sure, there are some people out there who have good genes, great metabolisms, and even greater doctors. But let's face it: those of us who need to nudge the nature a bit without going to the extreme are a majority. Reasons for doing this can vary and range from looking good to improving health.
